Sophie’s strong competitive rowing background and degree in Sport and Exercise Science means she knows exactly what it feels like to train - hard! Although she coaches a wide variety of clients - male and female - her specialism is now in working with new mum's and mum's to be. She’s dedicated to supporting them through an incredibly special physical and emotional journey from bump to baby, whatever their personal objectives are, pre and post natal. And as a result she has an intimate understanding of the female body and its awesome capabilities.
We originally met through our partners and have since shared a similar journey into this career so we're excited to finally work together on a project we're passionate about! From the start, Sophie's enthusiasm, openness and positivity drew me to her. We've been looking for an opportunity to work together for a while and given that our training approaches are very similar, felt now would be the right time to host this weekend. Everyone is welcome on this fitness retreat, but if you're a new mum, or mum to be, then you'll be able to take part in the full range of activities whilst feeling supported and safe. And you're very welcome to come with your partner and train together or, let them babysit!

Social media and the current appetite for ‘life behind a lens’ programmes have stirred up real hype and anxiety around pre and postnatal journeys. Celebrity stories about bodies 'snapping back' post-birth are an especially negative narrative that don’t represent real life. As a result of this trend, Sophie often meets mums with heightened body image concerns. So success is achieved when clients not only have an awareness of their strengths, but can balance this with listening to their body and showing it patience whilst exercising, during and after pregnancy.

What's included?
Sophie and I will take you through strength work, cardiovascular conditioning sessions, daily activities suitable for everyone (hikes, swims, beach sessions etc) and various workshops to arm you with the tools you need to lead a healthier life on your return home.

PLEASE NOTE: Although the retreat is pre and post natal friendly, everyone (including partners) are welcome. Babies are also welcome too so if you would like to bring yours, please let us know when booking. Travel buggies, travel cots and baby equipment are available to hire locally on the island relatively cheaply so just ask for options.
